Serie-R Cruiser: a new square watch that breaks watchmaking conventions for Depancel
Depancel, the watch brand that loves all automotive things, is once again heading off the beaten track with a third square watch: the Serie-R Cruiser!
This newest release takes us to the world of café racers where mechanics are their own style and way of life.
Legendary Serie-R line shape
Because of their characteristic rectangular shape, the Depancel community loves collections from the Serie-R line, especially the F-Back which is the brand’s best seller watch.
You can easily recognize these collections. They defy traditional watchmaking conventions and offer watches with a bold identity: the case features sharp lines and echoes the design of a radiator grille.
Depancel invites its community to boldly display their individuality with Cruiser, which follows in the footsteps of [Re]Naissance and F-Back.
Fine mechanics down to the last detail
With this new watch, Depancel demonstrates its passion for fine mechanics. Visible screws on the dial’s corners look like those on cruiser motorbike engines. The crown has a subtle combination of steel and black PVD that underlines this collection’s rebellious side. The second hand and the power reserve feature red accents that give the watch a sporty look. This Serie-R Cruiser is available in three versions: Petrol Blue, Dark Green and Shadow Black, three metallic colors that will appeal to enthusiasts.
Another unique feature is the Cruiser’s vertical counter layout with a 40 hour power reserve designed to look like a fuel gauge and a 24-hour function with dusk/dawn indicators.
Top quality watchmaking finishes
The Serie-R Cruiser is the perfect combination of fine mechanics and top quality watchmaking finishes. The dial is decorated with a Côtes de Genève pattern for a nod to radiator grilles and traditional watch movement finishes, and the hour markers set on a circular brushed surface are reminiscent of polished fairings. Matte touches appear at the dial corners along with sanded and polished finishes on the case.
An automatic movement and a strong case
This new watch is equipped with a Miyota 9132 movement known for its reliability and strength. It has a scratch- resistant sapphire crystal and a 316L stainless steel case, a material used in high-end watchmaking.
While Depancel usually offers new products by pre-order, they’re making an exception this time! Since the Serie-R is the community’s favorite, the new Cruiser will be available for immediate delivery starting at €695 so you can wear it on your next adventure.
